Scholarships to study in Italy offered by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation - NEW DEADLINE 20 JULY 2021

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offers, for the academic year 2021-2022, new scholarships to study in Italy for students from South Africa. A share of the scholarships is earmarked for Italians residing abroad (enlisted in the AIRE register).

The call for application, with further information on the procedure to apply, is published on the website Study in Italy. The deadline is 20 July 2021 at 2 pm (Italian time).

Students aiming to enroll in the following courses may apply:

- Master’s Degree (Laurea Magistrale 2° ciclo - 6 or 9 months)

Admission to the first year of a Master’s Degree course in Italy requires the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in the applicants’ country of origin; admission to the second year is granted to applicants upon evidence to be on track with their first year studies.

- Courses of Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) - 6 or 9 months

- PhD program - 6 or 9 months

- Research under academic supervision (Progetti in co-tutela) - 6 or 9 months

- Italian Language and Culture Courses - 3 months

Bachelor's Degree, "Laurea Magistrale a ciclo unico (5-year Master's Degree)", Master courses and 1-month trainings for Italian language teachers will not qualify.

Students who have already been awarded a Scholarship for the academic year 2020-2021 can apply for a new one for the academic year 2021-2022 only if they have obtained at least 15 credits (CFU) in the 2019-2020 term.

The scholarship will amount to 900 euro per month.
