The Italian Cultural Institute of Pretoria is proud to announce the concert From Bel Canto to Neapolitan Song, a tribute to the elegance and passion of Italian music, scheduled for 1 March 2025 at the historic Northwards House in Johannesburg.

This special event, in addition to celebrating Lyric Singing – new addiction to UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, is part of the celebrations for the 2500th anniversary of the founding of Naples, a city symbol of culture, art, and musical tradition. Naples has represented a crossroads of civilizations and sounds over the centuries, deeply influencing the Italian and global artistic landscape.

The concert will feature the exceptional voices of Opera UCT, including Karabo Rabaloi, Thandolwethu Longo, Zizipho Funzo, and Themba Mdlalose, accompanied by the talented pianist Dr. Lisa Engelbrecht, known for her ability to convey deep emotions through music.

The programme will take the audience on a musical journey from iconic Bel Canto arias to timeless Neapolitan songs, featuring works from Bellini to Puccini and Tosti, promising an unforgettable experience.
