Italian Design Day 2025 – CIBIC TALKS

The Italian Cultural Institute of Pretoria, in collaboration with the Consulate of Italy in Cape Town, is pleased to announce two special events with Matteo Cibic at The Cape Town Club as part of Italian Design Day 2025, a global initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to highlight the excellence of Italian design worldwide.

This year’s theme, “Inequalities. Design for a Better Life,” explores how design can create innovative solutions to improve daily life and promote inclusivity.

The first event will feature a discussion between Matteo Cibic and renowned South African jewellery designer Katherine Pichulik, whose work blends contemporary aesthetics with local craftsmanship. This conversation will delve into the relationship between design, cultural identity, and sustainable production.

The second event will be a lecture of Matteo Cibic focusing on design as a tool to address social inequalities and drive meaningful change.
